Safeguarding children involves working with children, young people and their families to take all reasonable measures to ensure that the risks of harm to children's' welfare are minimised, and where there are concerns about a child's welfare or safety staff are clear about their role and responsibility. Working with child protection entails making difficult and risky professional judgments'. It is demanding work that can be emotional and stressful. All staff involved should have access to appropriate advice and support.
